British Council

So grants sorted, (hopefully, fingers crossed, maybe) and I had my ridiculous meeting at the British Council in London. Well, I say ridiculous, mainly due to the fact that I had to fly back to England to go and then back to France again, but the French, not missing any opportunity to go on strike went on bloody strike which meant my flight home was cancelled and I ended up getting a lift back three days after I was supposed to fly. yawn.
The British Council building was quite awesome inside, I hope I get to go there again some time. Now I'm sourcing random bits ready for inter-active English classes and getting ready for 'school'. Bring on September!

Teaching in France

In a couple of weeks I have my first meeting at the school I'll be teaching at in France... so, with some trepidation I've mangled together this presentation I'm supposed to give on what I'll be teaching & how I'll be teaching it. This would have been 100% kosher had I not had to do it all in French. I don't speak fluent French, and, because I'm not native, I doubt I ever will - destined to always be the foreigner, so I've so far got a decent blurb of ideas I could do and I will gather props and support to help me wing it. To give me a better chance of making sense I got a real French person to give me a hand ironing out the grammatical errors and choosing more natural vernacular.

I better be loads better at French by the time I'm finished...
Think of the experience...
